Pop
I haven't been back to Phoenix since I moved out in '78 so this is just passin along a blurb. On a HD site, easy now, this guy reported that the gig was too hot (what wuz he expectin?), too many bugs, too many neo nazis, and too spreadout. Seems like he didn't zackly have the time of his life, but he did say that the Indian ride was his highlight of the week, well organized and beaucoup gorgeous iron. So, a tip of the hat to the Indian riders outta AZ who did it up right, and got a HD rider to say so on a HD board.
millennium chief
That must have been the Run With The Chiefs put on by Indian of Mesa. They also organized the American Ironhorse Run the day before. He's right! They always have great rides. Both are "your feet never touch the street" rides escourted by the Maricopia County Sheriffs Dept. As far as the weather goes, it was perfect. Obviously he was never there when it was really hot. Temp. was in the high 80's low 90's all week. Thurs. night and Friday it did drop drasticly, and rained like Hell. My son & I left very early Friday morning, so I don't know how Sat. & Sun were. Spread out? Hell ya it's spread out! All over the county and into surrounding areas. I guess some people like to be packed in like sardines (Harley mentality). With some help from the Stray Feather tribe, we had a terriffic time. A special thanks goes out to Braveheart & Tenderheart, Golden & Wild Hare, Road Kill and Wildman 46. They made it the best AZ Bike Week ever. Hangtown
was i at the same AZ bike week as you guys?? it rained for almost 24 hours straight, to the tune of over 2 inches friday! about 8 vendors lost a lot of stock when their easy-ups gave way to the weight of the water and the wind. everything in my booth was soaked, but i saved my easy-up by going down every couple of hours and removing the water. also, very small crowds due to the weather on sat and sun. it sucked. the only highlights were meeting a BUNCH of IIRA folks and seeing others i hadn't seen in some time........however, i'll be back next year too. mojocat99
Hey... I had a great time at the Bike Week events I went to... the weather was fantastic... beautiful shirtsleeve weather, especially nice on the rides up north. I did the "Buddy Stubbs" ride with 1400 other riders up through Payson / Strawberry and it was fantastic. Block party Tuesday night in Scottsdale was outrageous... great AC/DC & Doors cover bands for free / no cover and tons of awesome bikes. Hacienda Harley kickstart party was neat to see Alice Cooper & Gary Busey up close as well as all the bikes, but for cool factor the 3rd annual PYO Bash at Paul Jaffe's custom shop was killer with live band, free beer & pizza, awesome babes, etc. What more could you ask for?
