I tell the story -

Recommended Posts

So -

I received the crash bars for the Scout.

Open up the package - And start removing the brake side forward controls.

Then I remove the horn.

Then I begin removing the shifter side forward controls.

The last bolt is stuck on like a MF'er.

So I get the breaker bar - And put some muscle into it.

FINALLY - I get it out...

And the Scout falls over on top of me.

You see - The kickstand is mounted to the forward control.

So I'm sitting on my garage floor...

With the Scout laying on me...

Wondering what to do...

Luckly - I am sitting with my feet towards the front tire.

I push the Scout back up onto it's wheels with my right arm -

While trying to restart the bolts with my left hand.

Then I put it up on the jack - And installed the crash bar.

Yeah...how's the scoot?

Lucky it wasn't a Chief and a few pounds heavier!

Seriously, as I was reading it, I thought you were going to tell us that after getting everything stripped down, that the bars were the wrong ones.

Hope you don't have any bruises.

YOU JUST HAD TO BE THE FIRST...EH?   WELL, IF YOU WEREN'T THE FIRST..THE FIRST GUY THAT DID THIS DIDN'T HAVE THE BALLS TO TELL US ABOUT IT...

I'VE ALWAYS HAD THE FEAR (YEAH ME) OF MY CHIEF FALLING OFF THE LIFT AS I SIT ON THE FLOOR WORKING ON IT....WHAT A LAPFULL THAT WOULD BE...

Oh man that sucks!  I'm glad you were there to break the fall of your bike. :rasp:   I found out the hard way that there is no locking design of the sidestand for the chief.  Apparently you can't park it on a slight grade with the motor warming up. :uhoh:

Hey Danny, were not laughing at you were lauging with you. :rotfl:  :rotfl:  Hope the bikes ok.

Later Al

Speak for yourself, I'm laffing around him and at a slight angle.

As for someone asking if he has any pictures..........just how the fuck do you think he could have accomplished that? Pinned under a bike, somehow you expect him to be able to take a pic of himself?

I mean, really.............he's probably too stupid to remember to take the lens cap off!  :rasp:  :rotfl:  :joker:

Hey, if you can't laugh at your friends, what good are they?

They say animals are our friends................

But why then won't the little fuckers ever loan me any money?

  • 5 years later...

It is a good thing the bike didn't hit your head cause then everyone at Branson would be asking you how the big dent got in your Scout...
