Blackdog
131 years old does not sound very old to someone in say...New England where there are still structures surviving from the 1600s. For Western History 131 is old, precious and valuable. The popular Biker Hangout and tourist attraction - Cold Springs Tavern - was seen this morning on local news with firefighters wrapping the buildings in flame retardant foil and installing sprinklers. This would be a great loss to the biking (and general) community since it serves as an every weekend, most weekday gathering spot and destination. Music, Food, Refreshments and a great place to hang with other bikers. Been going there regularly since 2003 myself. Started as a Wells Fargo Overland Stage Coach Stop and evolved into a great place in the cool hills over Santa Barbara to get out of the heat and just chill. I'll keep an eye on this one - it would be one great loss - please think positive thoughts for the Cold Spring Tavern!! Falcon
Too bad they can't keep all the bikers filled up with beer and let 'em piss on the fire when it comes close. Might work, but somebody'd screw up and pee on their neighbor and then the fight would start...... Seriously, hope they are able to save it. It is Baloon
Our house is 15 minutes down the mountain from Cold Springs Tavern. If hot ash hits THE TAVERN, things won't look good for us either. Wife's family bought the house in 1963 so, same family in it ever since then. Rear view of the Arrow-Garage built for me and the Chief a few years ago (see below). Edited August 8, 2007 by EZ1
