Why i hate cars.

Recommended Posts

I know this will more than piss some people off here. But I felt the need to share this will all that ride motorcycles.

Today myself, Steve, and my parents IndianChief335 and mom went on the Connecticut United Ride in support of 9/11.

There was over 3,000 motorcycles.

And less than half way through the ride (everyone was having a great time, people waving on the side of the road, fire departments outside, police blocking the roads, just a great ride)

A car (pulling out of a ritzy condo complex) pulls out RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF 3,000 BIKES. Causes a young guy to swerve to avoid hitting the car, ended up skidding before falling off of his bike and having it fall on top of him.

This stopped the ride in its tracks.

The young man was rushed to the hospital and his bike was towed.

By this time, the 300 bikes that were held up and involved in helping this guy are seperated from the remaining 2700 who did not even know something happened.

When we go to continue on the ride, everyone gets split up and cars are in and out of us everywhere.

While riding in the pack, Steve and myself were following closely the other bikes trying not to get split up by cars when a douche bag (pardon my language) in a Jeep Charokee SUV decides she is sick of waiting in traffic and wants to go.

She puts her arm out the window in an attempt to STOP traffic and just pulls out.

RIGHT IN FRONT OF US! Steve slammed on the breaks as we skid sideways to a hold.

The whole time with me screaming at this hody toidy (sp?) douche bag.

THEN SHE HAS THE NERVE TO SAY FUCK YOU TO ME.

This is why I hate cars and hate bad drivers.

Two cases in ONE day where Motorcyclist took a back seat to some bitches impatience.

Prayers please for the young man who is in the hospital.

I hope they gave the asshole who pulled in front of him a ticket. This is something that bikers have to deal with everyday, and it pisses us all off. But there's nothing much we can do about it be more defensive while we ride. These people don't realize that bikes don't stop on a dime. That's why both my middle fingers have gotten very flexible!

Hope the guy who crashed is gonna be OK. Ride safe.

A well organized run, especially one that size, should have planned for just those pinheads. There's ways to orchestrate these things to prevent that happening.

But in the last twenty years road control has almost died.

You'll have to excuse me while I avoid big runs like the plague.

That being said, it amazes me that when you hear these horror stories, you rarely hear about the cage operators vehicles being rendered inoperable. I dunno, just occors to me that when hundreds of motorcyclists are endangered by an idiot, the law of overwhelming numbers would somehow level the playing field.

Mebbe it's just me. Yeah, that's probly it.

This woman realized that she really fucked up.

I do not know how the police handed it but I am sure some kind of action is taking place seeing as this was a ride to benefit the police and fire departments.

On a side note, I spoke with the director of PR for the ride and the kid has a dislocated colar bone and a broken leg.

*Hopefully he will be suing the woman who caused the accident*

Ya know Pop, it still amazed me, especially on this ride.

This ride is police escorted and all intersections are blocked off.

I have gone on this ride for 3 years and this is the first time I have seen something like this happen.

The people who put it together are also amazed

It takes one idiot to start the domino effect, I hope that beotch feels bad for what happened. And for the one that told you FU, thats when you get tag numbers and get your cop friends to give them a hard time, especially the ones who are bikers.

I wish I had gotten the chance to get her tags. I was too busy hanging on for dear life and mfing her up and down.

It all happened too fast.

but looking back on it now, I wish I had told the cop at the next intersection what happened.

I'm sorry to hear this, glad the guy is not hurt worse, we had a couple folks die because of the same thing a couple of years ago in South Texas.

Yep cagers need to get a clue, but I've ridden back from the ROT in Texas and seen guys pulling bikes on trailer do the same kinda shit.

I'm sorry this happenned to you, and the guy that went down

I thought this was a well orginized ride, and well executed.

Lucky for us we were in the first 2/3rds of the ride, so we did not experience any problems w/ cars. That being said , you could tell there were a number of drivers who were getting impatient.

Let me speak about the morons who ride.

At the beginning, the organizers said, CLEARLY, and at least 5 times,"DO NOT START YOUR BIKES UNTIL YOU HEAR THE FIRE TRUCK'S AIR HORNS" what do at least a thousand morons do?

"PLEASE KEEP THE FORMATION TIGHT" what do at least a thousand morons do? not nessasarilly the same morons mind you!

as an example, 2 of my bros got caught behind 2 jap superbike trick riding jemokes who would hang back and then proceed to do 100 yard wheelies, this allowed not once, but twice, cars to cut in on them!

But it wasn't just jap riders, all around me I noticed riders who couldn't formation ride if their life depended on it, and it does!

This is not rocket science, A poor or reckless bike rider is just as bad as a poor or impatient car driver.

I have no sympathy for either!

I am glad you got home in one piece to ride another day!

That right there is why I'm with Pop, I don't do crowds and I don't put up with any bullshit from stunt riders.

sounds like 3000 bikes could have stopped that car and jeep and reminded them of some common courtesy on the roadside...

Had the same thing happen during the Ride On event for Indian.  Four of us pulled along side the car and mover her to the side of the road and proceeded on.  Luckily, no one was hurt, but the driver left with a piece of everyone's mind.

As far as parades go, jackass bikers are just as bad.  And it's not just the ride riders.  The last Love Ride I was one was the first one I convinced a half dozen IIRA brothers to join me.  As we were just getting on the highway, a twerp on a Sporty with ape hanger runs up between the staggered formation riders...misses us, but clips the handlebars of two bikes in the line ahead of us.  The riders following moved around while the six Indian riders stopped, blocked traffic and provided support until the EMTs arrived.  The damage was severe as one of the bitch riders was wearing nothing but a crop top and shorts.  While were were only moving at 35-40 mph, the idiot splitter was easily doing 60-65 when he contacted the other two bikes.

I should also note that the entire right lane was clear of traffic and there was no reason for this jackass to have done what he did.

For me, too many people forget why they are on these rides and far, far toom many riders have no idea how to ride in formation.

3000 bikes is too many to move in one group.

On the last large group ride I was on -

The organizers released us in groups of 50 -

About 10 groups total.

When the "rubber-banding" started -

You could just catch the group ahead -

Or fall into the group behind.

Fuck'em...

Thanks, Danny

I understand what you are saying. There was one guy near us who kept hittin the gas then slamming on his brakes.

But he was also itching and scratching away like he was on something.

As for the people who started their bikes, in defence, we were allllll the way in the back of the park at nortons.

We were probably those people because we just couldn't HEAR what they were saying.

People who cant keep formation shouldnt ride a ride like this.

They think its easy and all fun and games.

The thing with this ride is.

The roads were closed off.

The cars were put on hold by police.

But we also went threw some "richy" areas where they are impatient and drive ritzy cars and think they own the road.

LD, we were in the front pack, up near the trailer and still idiots started their bikes, no brain, no pain!

I mentioned your post to my wife , and mentioned the hoidy toidy chick in a Jeep part, her eyes got as big as half dollars and she said "I saw that bitch!" and then told me she thought exactly the same thing. Funny how women think alike.

I will do this ride again, but next time I will be sure to be right up front, and hopefully w/ more of my brothers and sisters around me.

I would really hate to wait for 3000 bikes to pass before I could pull out of my driveway.  Not saying what they did was right, but that is a long time to ask someone that is  completed uninterested in what you are doing to wait.

It was the enterance for a condo complex.

If everyone else had to wait, so does she.

She is not special
