It is good to see some positive things, namely people helping people in the worst of times. Very touching, MsChief.

I thought it was too.  That's one of the reasons I posted it.  But I'm blown away by the destruction.  Seems so much worse than when Andrew blew through - at least we were able to "dry out" afterward.  This whole area is under water!  Obviously, since they are under sea level, but there's SO MUCH to deal with - flooding, destruction, looting, shooting at officers.  Dang!

Here's a really interesting blog that will give a whole new perspective:

The Real News (blog)

(It's best to read from the posts from the bottom up.)

Thanks for the post, I actually haven't caught any news footage, I have only heard about what was going on!

Your welcome Michael.  Actually, I've seen about 10 minutes total of news footages since this all happened, so I'm not as desensitized to it as many others are.  That's probably what made this documentary so touching and sobering.

One aspect of this tragedy shows the humankindness that still exists in man and the other shows the evil and selfishness.  Same old story, different day...

Victoria,

Thank you VERY much for the post!  That is some good stuff and the person who created the movie should be congratulated for putting together a great piece of work!

"We the people, of the United States of America" will stand tall and proud, arm in arm, to recover from this disaster.
