Centrist.I can't agree with everything on there. Some thiings do need regulation.

Like what?

And how?

And who decides?

Every Government regulation started out as a good idea and ends up a bloated shit-pile.

government doesn't work, except for when it does what it's designed to do: Protect its citizens against those wanting to take what belongs to them.

what else should the government do? Why can't I decide where my money goes? What is so fair about redistribution of wealth.

A is A.

theft is theft.

Coercion is coercion.

Flaming liberal here (once again)

You mean socialist, don't you? A classic Liberal is modeled after our forefathers that thought outside the government box, and understood how the tyranny of the many is still tryanny. they were Liberals, because they broke away from traditional monarchies and formed a government based upon individual rights. We have bastardized this into mob rule, but that wasn't the original idea.

So, if you are a flaming "liberal" then you are for less government and more rights for the individual...somehow, I doubt that's your premise, Komrade.

Damn I allways thought I was a conservative republican.

Well, We're closely related on most topics until you get into the "holier-than-though" moral section the Republicans cherish so much. Libertarians believe in the individual, period. this means whatever an individual wants to do (sex, drugs, rock n roll) is that persons freedom of choice, and morality is subjective. We believe in freedom, and the right to pursue whatever floats our boat, as long as we don't hurt anybody else along the way. Kinda simple rules to live by, actually. truly a great place to live if we could all abide by the simple rules of non-coercive action, and the freedom of capitalism. I have to admit, I believe if more people subscribed to the basic Libertarian principles, we'd have a more productive society, less crime, less taxes, and happier people.

Ok, off the box for now. :Stan:

Well I gotta tell you. I'm in the middle of the right but there are two points I strongly dissagree with of Rep. party lines.

Govt. should not even mention anything pertaining to religion. Also that abortion should be left up to the voters but I also think that myself & a lot of others, including judges, are not qualified to make a call on that & should leave that box unchecked leaving that up to the people that it would actually affect. I think both of those issues have to be a personal call & not regulated by govt. We're at a point now that judges (both sides) are making all the rules & the people be damned. Hang the supreme court & let the people vote on important matters. I don't know about the rest of you but I'm damn tired of lawyers running my life. If the popular vote rulling doesn't work out it could be changed in four years, the courts decisions, good or bad, are forever.

OK, off the box now.

Wouldn't that be like the government protecting us from....the government?

:banghead:

In essence, and in it's simplest, constitutional form...Yes, exactly. It also should protect against foreign invasion, and thieves (governmental or otherwise), rapists, murders, etc. Other than that, Lassez-Faire, as the frogs say.
