Got a late start today. Slept in after after yesterday's excursion to Disneyland. Had breakfast with my friend John so I didn't hit the road until noon. Had a nice day at the Magic Kingdom. Weather was excellent. Getting too old for this shit, though, as I was exhausted by day's end. Stopped by fugdbdt's house on Tuesday night and had a great time with Danny, Mary, Foosh and Cynder. Thanks again, Danny. You put on a great feed bag. A little Johnny Walker Blue and an Opus X put the finishing touch on a very enjoyable evening. With the late start I got today, things did get a little warm crossing the Mojave desert as I rode through it during the hottest part of the day. Not too bad, though, at the higher elevations. You climb to over 4000 feet a couple of times on the way to Sin City and, from about 2500 feet up, it wasn't too bad. Worst part of the whole ride was checking in to my room at Circus Circus. The place was a zoo. It took me over an hour just to get my room key. Longest line I stood in yesterday at Disneyland was only a half hour. And that was to get lunch. Screw it. Next time I'm staying at Motel 6. I head out tomorrow for Zion National Park in 'Utah. Zion's only about 150 miles from Vegas so it should be an easy ride. The bike ran well again today and, once again, I had a tail wind most of the way so I made good time and got good gas mileage. Even with the 4000 foot climbs, I managed 33 mpg when I filled up in Barstow. Lots of semis on I-15 so I guess the drafting I did didn't hurt, either. I finally will be getting off the interstates tomorrow and I'm looking forward to that. Southern Utah has some of the prettiest scenery anywhere in the country and I will be riding through as much of it as I can. I'll be visting 6 national parks in the next 4 days and spending the night at 4 of them. Really looking forward to it. Don't know what internet access is going to look like out there, though, so it may be awhile before I can post again. Getting hungry so I'm going to end this for now. There's a buffet beckoning and my stomach's talking to me. Later.
