LaCROSSE, Wis. - Norma J. (Rosenow) Peterson, 85, of La Crosse, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at the Hillview Health Care Center.
She was born in Sumner, Iowa, on Oct. 19, 1924, to Otto and Amanda (Pries) Schumacher. She married Reuben Rosenow on Dec. 7, 1947, in Sumner, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 1994. Michael C. Hirst, 46, of Cedar Lane, Carlisle, died Saturday, April 19, 2008, in Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 12, 1961, in Missouri, to Rita Ann Johnson Hirst of Carlisle and the late Claude A. Hirst.
Michael was a machinst by trade, and had been working as a cashier at the Hess Gas Station on the Carlisle Pike in Silver Spring Township.
He was a avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed fishing and was a loving and caring person who shared his life with many.

Coming back from IRIP last year, I rode with Jay Cox, Fireman Dave, Nurse Darlene, Leatherchick Laura and her boyfriend (I think. If not, sorry Laura...) from Indian Point to Dallas. A long ride for an overweight damn near fifty year old sumbitch like me. When we got to Dave ands Darlene's place, I could barely get off the damn bike. My hip hurt so bad I was seeing double.
I managed to make it through the evening, and even lived to ride the last 300 miles to San Antonio.
